This development follows Fabio Cannavaro’s departure from Udinese after the last Serie A season just a few months ago.

Cannavaro, who steps in to replace Nenad Bjelica, is tasked with rejuvenating a team currently sitting in third place in the league standings, trailing behind rivals Rijeka and Hajduk Split by seven points.

The challenge ahead is significant, as Cannavaro aims to steer the team back into title contention.

The highly-respected former defender, known for his illustrious stints with both Juventus and Real Madrid, is set to officially take charge of Dinamo Zagreb on January 3.

At a recent meeting, the Management Board, along with the sports director, endorsed Cannavaro’s appointment, a decision that received the full backing of the club president and the Executive Board.

In a formal statement, Dinamo expressed their enthusiasm, declaring, “Fabio Cannavaro is the new coach of the first team of GNK Dinamo. The new coach will join the first team at the gathering on January 3, when he will be officially presented. We congratulate Mr. Cannavaro on his new position and wish him the best of luck and success on the Dinamo bench.”

Cannavaro brings with him a wealth of experience from previous coaching roles, having led clubs such as Benevento, Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, and Guangzhou Evergrande in China.
