Falconets secure away win vs Rwanda in U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier

THE Falconets of Nigeria beat hosts Rwanda 1-0 in a 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup second round, first leg qualifying clash in Kigali today.

Both teams fought hard at the Kigali-Pele Stadium, located in the Nyamirambo district of the city, but a tight first half ended goalless.

Alaba Olabiyi scored from a goalmouth scramble off a corner kick in the 70th minute to give the Falconets the away victory in new head coach Moses Aduku’s first outing with the team.

Both teams will clash in the return.leg at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan on Saturday.

The Falconets’ delegation will return to Nigeria on Monday morning, according to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
