WATCH THE VIDEO HERE The family of the suspended pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Ayorinde AdeBello, has filed a petition against controversial blogger, Gistlover over allegations of homosexuality.
NaijaOnPoint.com.ng (NOP) earlier reported that the church suspended two of its church leaders, Ayorinde Adebello and Deacon Oke Mayowa, on Tuesday in a memo dated October 28, 2024. The memo, signed by Sunday Akande, RCCG’s national overseer, ordered a thorough investigation into the allegations and temporarily relieved the accused individuals of their responsibilities within the church.
Adebello’s suspension comes after the controversial blog, in a series of posts on Instagram, claimed that the pastor had engaged in sexual relationships with young men, allegedly offering them opportunities in exchange for sexual favours. Reacting, AdeBello via his Instagram page, denied the accusations, stating, “I never engaged in sodomy with male teenagers”. He said his previous silence was misconstrued as an “admission of guilt,” prompting him to issue a response. The family of the pastor, in a recent development, petitioned the assistant inspector general of police at FCID Alagbon in Lagos, arguing that the accusations are unfounded and lack credible evidence.
The family further claimed that the false allegations had caused significant emotional distress and jeopardized the pastor’s safety. They begged the police authorities to conduct a fair investigation and expressed their willingness to cooperate fully.
