Family Speaks On Iwuanyanwu’s Widow Being Barred From Remarrying In His Last Will

The family of the late Ohanaeze Ndigbo president, Chief Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Iwuanyanwu has debunked reports claiming that he barred his wife, Frances Iwuanyanwu, from remarrying in his will.

The clarification followed widespread media reports (not Naijaonpoint) alleging that the elder statesman included a clause in his will preventing his widow from entering another marriage.

The family have described the reports as false, misleading, and entirely fabricated.

In an official statement issued from Oriental Plaza, Ugwu Orji, Owerri, Imo State, the family described as mischievous, narratives aimed at tarnishing the late Iwuanyanwu’s legacy.

They stated that no part of the will contains such a restriction and that the reports lack any evidence or legal backing.

They stressed that the late Iwuanyanwu was a man of love, honour, and dignity who held his wife in high regard.

According to them, he never imposed such conditions on her and treated her with love and respect throughout their marriage.

“Nowhere in the Last Will and Testament of the Chief Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Iwuanyanwu (Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo), was Chief (Mrs.) Frances Iwuanyanwu, prohibited from remarrying.

“Such an assertion is both factually incorrect but also deeply disrespectful to the man and the legacy of love, dignity and truth he lived and died for. He was a loving, caring, and honourable man”, the statement read in part.
