Tyrone Blackburn, the attorney currently representing the man accusing rapper Fat Joe of having underage sex with minors, has been arrested for allegedly hitting a process server with his vehicle.
Blackburn was arrested yesterday morning and charged with 10 felony assault counts after allegedly striking the Fat Joe’s process server with his car “in a failed attempt to avoid being served” with paperwork.
Fat Joe filed a lawsuit against Blackburn, alleging extortion after his former Fat Joe hypeman Terrance “T.A.” Dixon sued the rapper, claiming in his lawsuit that he was forced to work without pay and, more shockingly, that he was exposed to the trafficking of underage girls and other heinous crimes for years.
In court, Blackburn pled not guilty to the charges, but speaking to Billboard, his attorney David Raskin claims that Fat Joe’s process server surprised Blackburn and “attempted to basically jump across his window,” adding that while it could have been an accident, it could have also been the process server’s deliberate attempt to get Blackburn hit with an assault case.
Raskin says he expects “at the very least reduced to a misdemeanor, and at some point dismissed.”
Fat Joe’s attorney also issued a statement.
“Tyrone Blackburn’s arrest comes as no surprise to me — it’s just the latest example of his malicious and manipulative pattern of misconduct finally coming to light,” Joe Tacopina said in a statement. “Today’s arrest is just the first step, but I’m confident that my client’s name will be cleared from all of these falsehoods and Blackburn will be brought to justice once and for all.”
