Mallam Auwalu, the father of the principal suspect, Umar in the killing of a housewife and her six children in Kano State has called for the immediate execution of his son.
Auwalu appealed to the Nigerian government to ensure it does not waste any more time in sentencing his son to death.
Speaking during an interview on a local radio in Kano State, Auwalu people like Umar should not be allowed in any society.
According to him, his son must be executed to ensure society is protected from such insanity and inhumane acts.
He said, “The likes of Umar my Son should not be allowed in society. They should be eliminated to allow for a sane environment.
“I’m suspecting that the same Umar is behind the killings of the Darayi Hausa wife’s junior sister sometimes last month,” Auwalu said.
He further said that he believes his son has also been involved in other criminal activities which might not be known to the public.
“I’m quite sure that Umar has been committing several crimes which we are not aware of, but now that he has been arrested, he should be punished accordingly.
“I don’t want the government or the security agency to delay his trial because if he is allowed to stay in prison one day, some politicians will come and forgive him and that will not go well with our society,” he added.
Recall that Umar and two others were arrested by the police on Sunday for the alleged murder of a housewife and her three children in Kano.
A nephew of the housewife, 23-year-old Umar was said to have committed the crime alongside Isyaku Yakubu, ‘m’, AKA ‘Chebe’, 40 years old, and Yakubu Abdulaziz, ‘m’, AKA ‘Wawo’, 21 years old.
They were apprehended during a sting operation personally supervised by the Kano state commissioner of police, Ibrahim Bakori.
