FCT Police Deny Blocking Bauchi Governor At PDP Secretariat

PDP Secretariat

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has debunked a viral video circulating on social media alleging that its operatives scuffled with and obstructed Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, from accessing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

In a statement on Tuesday night, the Command described the footage as “false, misleading, and not a true reflection of events,” insisting that no officer engaged in a confrontation at the party headquarters.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the entrance to the secretariat became congested during the arrival of party leaders, prompting officers to step in.

She explained that the officers intervened to disperse private security personnel and bouncers who had clustered around the gate and hindered smooth movement.

“At no time were police officers involved in any scuffle, nor did they obstruct the Governor, as falsely portrayed in the circulating video,” she said.

Adeh clarified that the officers’ actions were aimed at ensuring unhindered access and maintaining order ahead of scheduled Board of Trustees and National Executive Committee meetings.

The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Miller Dantawaye, urged the public to exercise caution and verify information before circulating it online.

He warned that sensational, unverified posts could escalate tensions in the nation’s capital.

Dantawaye reiterated the command’s commitment to maintaining peace, ensuring public safety, and supporting all lawful political and civic engagements across the FCT.
