The Federal Government has announced the commencement of applications for the Nigeria Jubilee Fellowship Programme (NJFP) 2.0, describing it as an upgraded and smarter version of the national initiative designed to equip young Nigerian graduates with practical work experience and professional development opportunities.
In a joint statement released by the Federal Government and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the new phase of the programme aims to connect talented graduates with reputable organizations across both the private and public sectors. Funded by the European Union (EU), NJFP 2.0 provides successful fellows with a monthly stipend of ₦150,000 for the duration of the fellowship.
According to the statement, NJFP 2.0 “represents a stronger, smarter version that will continue to build young Nigerians’ employability and professional skills while contributing to national socio-economic growth.”
The programme offers participants access to mentorship, professional guidance, and practical work placements across multiple industries. It is designed to help graduates enhance their job readiness, leadership capacity, and ability to contribute meaningfully to the economy.
To be eligible, applicants must be Nigerian citizens aged 30 or younger who graduated not earlier than 2022. Candidates must hold either a Bachelor’s Degree or a Higher National Diploma (HND) in any discipline. Degree holders are required to have a minimum of Second-Class Lower (2.2), while HND holders must possess at least an Upper Credit (3.00). Applicants must also have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) or hold a valid exemption certificate.
Other eligibility requirements include being currently unemployed and demonstrating a clear passion for professional development, commitment to Nigeria’s socio-economic advancement, and strong communication and time management skills.
Prospective applicants are expected to have scanned copies of key documents before applying, including their Degree or HND certificate, NYSC certificate or exemption letter, updated CV, National Identification Number (NIN) slip, and Bank Verification Number (BVN).
Applications are open for both Fellows and Host Organizations through the official NJFP 2.0 portal. Interested individuals are advised to ensure all information and supporting documents are accurately submitted to avoid disqualification.
