According To Our Reporter, the Federal Government officially opened a cyberbullying case against activist and publisher Omoyele Sowore at the Federal High Court, Abuja. Watch full report

The charges relate to social media posts Sowore allegedly made in August 2025 targeting President Bola Tinubu. A DSS cyberspace monitoring officer testified, presenting digital evidence including videos, screenshots, and official letters demanding content removal.

The court admitted these as exhibits, citing concerns over possible damage to the DSS’s reputation. A brief clash occurred when the prosecution requested Sowore’s phone, but the court barred electronic devices in the courtroom, handing the phone to the defense instead.

The defense secured an adjournment until January 27, 2026, to prepare for cross-examination. Meanwhile, charges against Meta and X were dropped, focusing the trial solely on Sowore’s online actions.
