FG has commenced a three-day citizens’ engagement tour in parts of South East.

NaijaOnPoint Nigeria reports that the Federal Government has kicked off a three-day citizens’ engagement tour of Enugu and Ebonyi States, aimed at showcasing ongoing projects and interacting directly with residents.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made this known during a meeting with media executives and influencers in Enugu on Wednesday night. He was represented by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Chinasa Nnam Ogbodo.

According to Idris, the delegation comprising officials from the ministry and its agencies, members of the National Communications Team, executives of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Broadcasting Organizations of Nigeria (BON), Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU), and the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ)—will inspect Federal and state government projects in both states.

The programme will feature a Citizens’ Engagement Forum in Enugu on Thursday at the Government House, where stakeholders will share feedback with government representatives. The same format will be held in Ebonyi on Friday, August 15, 2025, with Governor Ogbonna Erishi Nwifiru hosting the team. Both events will be broadcast live on national news networks.

Idris praised the warm welcome extended to his delegation, especially by Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State, who he said provided full support for the visit. He also conveyed President Bola Tinubu’s goodwill to the people of the South East.
