WATCH THE VIDEO HERE THE Federal Government has announced that Monday, September 16th, will be a public holiday in observance of Eid-ul-Mawlid, the celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad. This information was shared in a statement today by Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior. “The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, congratulated Muslim Ummah both at home and in the Diaspora on this occasion,” the statement read. The minister encouraged the Muslim community, as well as all Nigerians, to embrace values of patience, sacrifice, and resilience. “In wishing the Muslim community well during this time, the Minister urged them to take this opportunity to pray for lasting peace and a more prosperous, equitable nation,” the statement noted.
