Notification for the planned total closure of the Third Mainland Bridge by the Federal Ministry of Works has been released through the state government.

The state’s Commissioner for Transportation, Mr Oluwaseun Osiyemi, who announced this, explained that “The planned total closure, which is to allow the contractor to execute a major aspect of the ongoing repair works on the bridge, will affect both bounds of the carriageways from noon tomorrow, Wednesday, 28 to noon on Thursday, February 29, 2024.”

Consequently, all road users have been advised to use alternative routes already provided during the period, as the Third Mainland bridge would not be open to traffic for 24 hours.
