WATCH THE VIDEO HERE THE Federal Government has introduced a new revenue collection platform, the Treasury Management and Revenue Assurance System (TMRAS), aimed at improving financial management across government ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs). According to a statement from the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) today, the Remita platform, a Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)-approved payment gateway, will continue to operate and will be integrated into the new system. OAGF spokesperson Bawa Mokwa emphasized that TMRAS will incorporate multiple Payment Solution Service Providers (PSSPs) alongside Remita to enhance liberalization and improve revenue remittances. Key Features of TMRAS Coordinated Revenue Collection: Streamlines government revenue collection and payments. Enhanced Payment Flexibility: Expands beyond Remita to accommodate other CBN-licensed payment service providers. Improved Financial Oversight: Ensures real-time monitoring and analysis of government transactions. While Remita remains the primary payment gateway for at least two months, the government is working towards expanding the front-end payment infrastructure to accommodate more CBN-approved providers.
