World football governing body FIFA has officially congratulated Remo Stars on winning their maiden Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title for the 2024/25 season, Footynaija.com reports.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino sent a formal letter to Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Ibrahim Gusau, acknowledging the Ikenne-based club’s landmark achievement.

“By means of this letter, I am pleased to congratulate the new champions of Nigeria, Remo Stars FC,” wrote Infantino. “Their constant efforts and results throughout the season have paid off, resulting in this important title.”

The message, sent on FIFA’s official letterhead, also praised the NFF’s ongoing contribution to football development across the country.

While thanking you and your Federation for your continuous support, work, and dedication for the development of football in your country, I look forward, dear President, to seeing you again soon,” Infantino added.

Remo Stars clinched the NPFL crown with a decisive 4–1 home victory over Ikorodu City on matchday 37, following an earlier 1–0 win over Niger Tornadoes. The triumph came after two consecutive second-place finishes.

Their league success secures a return to the CAF Champions League for the fourth straight season — but this time, as national champions.

With FIFA’s message putting the club on the global map, Remo Stars now turn their sights to making a meaningful impact on the African stage.

No Nigerian club has won the CAF Champions League trophy since Enyimba’s back-to-back wins more than 20 years ago.
