Firms deploy tech to address electricity crisis

TD Africa, a heavyweight in Nigeria’s ICT distribution game, has teamed up with global energy tech player EcoFlow to roll out a slate of portable power solutions, aiming to jolt the country’s chronic electricity woes into submission.

Revealed on Saturday via a statement from the Zinox subsidiary, the partnership promises a lifeline of clean, reliable energy for homes, businesses, and off-grid communities long plagued by blackouts.

“We’re redefining power access in Nigeria with cutting-edge, sustainable solutions designed for convenience and long-term impact,” said TD Africa’s Coordinating Managing Director, Chioma Chimere.

She pitched the move as more than a product drop—it’s a move toward greener living, slashing carbon footprints for a market desperate for a steady power supply.

TD Africa will steer the ship as EcoFlow’s official distributor, hawking an advanced lineup of portable power stations and gas-powered generators.

The launch lit up Lagos with a showcase of humming machines—EcoFlow’s RIVER 3 Max Plus, RIVER 2 Pro, DELTA 2, and DELTA 2 Max—paraded before energy wonks, media, and influencers.

EcoFlow Nigeria’s Business Development Manager, Isaiah Umoh, called it a “pivotal moment” for energy independence.

“Our solutions are crafted with the Nigerian consumer in mind, delivering stable power while backing local sustainability goals,” he said, basking in the glow of live demos that drew nods from the crowd.

For TD Africa, it’s a double play—leveraging its tech credentials while riding the clean-energy wave. Nigeria’s grid, a problematic flicker, leaves millions grasping for alternatives; this move could shift the dial.
