Flying Eagles to face Colombia, Saudi Arabia in U-20 World Cup

THE Flying Eagles of Nigeria discovered their group opponents for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in the early hours of today following the draw for the tournament in Chile.

Two-time global runners-up Flying Eagles, who won bronze at the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations recently in Egypt, will face Colombia, Norway and Saudi Arabia in Group F of the tournament scheduled for Chile from 27 September to 19 October.

Hosts Chile are joined in Group A by Egypt, Japan and New Zealand, while six-time champions Argentina are in Group D with Australia, Cuba and Italy.

Africa’s other representatives, Morocco and South Africa, were placed in tough-looking groups.

Morocco are in Group C with Brazil, Mexico and 1999 champions Spain, while African champions South Africa will battle France, New Caledonia and United States of America.

A total of 24 teams are taking part in the tournament split into six groups, with the matches hosted in four cities: Rancagua, Santiago, Talca and Valparaiso.
