Follow The Way Of Unity-Authentic News Daily Managing Editor Appeals To Nigerian At Annual Awards

Comrade Jacob Dickson Onjewu the Managing Editor of Authentic News Daily welcomed all attendees to the great event giving the reason for the choice of the theme and the need for everyone to follow the way of unity which we need now in Nigeria for national growth and development. He went further to say that all who met the criteria for the lofty awards today have been worthily selected and he encouraged them to keep up the good work. The keynote address was delivered by the former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai CFR who was ably represented by Retd Maj.Gen. Bulama Biu. He started by saying all religions acknowledge peace and unity. He agreed that the theme was apt and a timely reminder and urgent call for all and sundry to heed to the call and act positively.

The two guest speakers who represented the two religions gave good accounts why none of the religions is opposed to peace and unity. Revd. Hayab the CAN Chairman for Kaduna and Abuja quoted a popular passage from John 3:16 which says: ” For God so loved the World that he gave his one and only son…
Going further he explained that the word the ‘world’ – means all people Christians, Moslems and even pagans. The sheikh who spoke on the Moslem angle, also gave an instance when the founder of the faith Uthman Dan Fodio permitted Christians to practice their faith in his mosque not minding that it was a sacred place for the Moslem faithful. What a good example of fellowship and unity. The speakers encouraged followers of both faith to live in harmony, collaborate and continue to enjoy communal growth and peaceful development. We are one no matter our faith they concluded.

Presentation of Awards were made to numerous individuals who through their dutiful services to their government, organization and community have excelled and therefore recognized which included Dangote Group of Companies, Engr. Dr. Musa Rabiu KanKanso, Kano State Government TNews, and a parastatal in Kaduna State among several others.

A team of well wishers echoed their admiration of the good work Authentic News Daily and their pedigree to keep reporting encouraging news that singled them out as a worthy news outlet. Such well wishers included the Chairman of Kaduna State Council of NUJ. Comrade Abdulgafar Alabelewe.
