Nollywood actor Rotimi Salami has expressed heartbreak at celebrating the New Year without his best friend and colleague, Allwell Ademola.
The Yoruba actor revealed that for five consecutive years, he and Allwell had crossed over to the New Year under the same roof, prayed, and made wishes together with Thesalamis.
Unfortunately, this year is different because she isn’t there. Rotimi said, however, she is with them in their minds and prayers.
“For 5 years consecutively
We cross over to the new year under the same roof.
Pray and make wishes together with Thesalamis.
This year is different because you are not here.
In our minds and prayers… in your voice and hugs
We say HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE
I already made a promise to be fine, and I will”.
Breaking his silence on her death, Rotimi, who was her best friend, noted how 72 hours of endless tears still can’t bring her back. Rotimi made it known that all wasn’t well at the moment, but for the sake of his family, friends, and the fans who had shown up, and most especially, for his children, he was learning to move on.
In an interview, last year, Salami had spilt the beans on his relationship with Allwell. He recalled how she introduced him to Ronke Odusanya and guided him down the path that led to his creation. He noted how people assumed they were dating because of their relationship, which he denied.
This wasn’t the first time he was addressing such rumours. In an Instagram post, while reacting to a blog post describing Allwell as his lover, he made fun of the article, calling the rumour mongers’ world people’.
When Rotimi celebrated his birthday, Allwell celebrated the man he has become. The plus-size actress wished he would enjoy his new age and all the goodness of life. She expressed her pride in his achievements.
In an Instagram post, Rotimi penned a heartwarming note to Allwell, declaring his love for her. The actor appreciated Allwell for always fighting him and for him and revealed his delight to see her grow bigger every time.
Reciprocating the love, Allwell called him her babe, her father figure, and several sweet names.
