Air Marshal (retd.) Saddique Abubakar, former Chief of Air Staff and 2023 APC governorship candidate in Bauchi State, alongside Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor, ex-Governor of Edo State and former senator, have officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition.

The duo were spotted at the ADC official launch in Abuja today.

Abubakar secured approximately 41.8% of the vote before losing to PDP’s Bala Mohammed in 2023.

Prof. Osunbor represented Edo Central as senator from 1999 to 2007, and briefly served as Edo State governor between 2007 and 2008 before an election tribunal nullified his win.

Abubakar’s defection aligns with earlier reports that several APC chieftains in the North are already in “secret talks” with the ADC coalition.

The inclusion of Abubakar and Osunbor indicates the ADC already has national reach.
