WATCH THE VIDEO HERE The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has announced its shortlist for the Manager of the Month award for March, with four coaches recognised for their outstanding work on the touchline, Footynaija.com reports. Rivers United boss Finidi George headlines the nominations after guiding the Port Harcourt club to three wins and a draw in five matches during the month. The impressive run helped the former Super Eagles coach and Rivers United maintain their push for the title, sitting firmly in second place on the table. Also nominated is Plateau United head coach Mbwas Mangut, whose side climbed out of the relegation zone thanks to three wins and a draw. The Peace Boys’ resurgence under Mangut has been one of the standout stories of the month. Kennedy Boboye’s influence at Akwa United has been immediate and telling. Since his appointment, the Promise Keepers have picked up four wins from five games, reigniting their fight for survival. Despite sitting 18th with 37 points, Boboye’s tactical acumen has given Akwa a lifeline. Ladan Bosso, meanwhile, masterminded an unbeaten month with Bayelsa United, steering them to three victories and two draws in a critical phase of the season. The winner will be selected by a panel of Nigerian football experts and is expected to be announced next week. Elsewhere, Remo Stars head coach Daniel Ogunmodede remains confident in his team’s title chances despite a recent defeat to Rivers United that trimmed their lead at the top to five points. The Sky Blue Stars face Lobi Stars in a rescheduled matchday 30 clash on Wednesday, with Ogunmodede determined to collect maximum points in the remaining home fixtures.
