WATCH THE VIDEO HERE French Montana was once signed to Bad Boy and was also once considered one of Sean “Diddy” Combs’s closest friends, but when asked about Diddy’s ongoing legal issues, the rapper refused to answer any questions. In the clip below, a reporter meets French at an airport and initially asks him if he’s attending this year’s Met Gala. French responded that they didn’t know, and then they engaged in a brief discussion about fashion before the subject turned to Diddy. “Come on, man,” he says and then walks away. His security guard then walks up to the reporters and tells him, “Don’t put that last part,” which the reporters decided to do anyway. French Montana walks off when he’s asked about Diddy — and then his bodyguard asks the reporter not to release the part of the interview about Diddy. In 2018, the pair made headlines after Diddy reportedly cropped a photo taken at the Grammys weekend, which originally featured Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Nas, French Montana, and Fabolous. French Montana posted the original picture on his Instagram page, but Diddy posted the edited version. “I take a lot of pictures with a lot of different celebrities because we’re all family and stuff,” Diddy said in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres in 2018. “Sometimes my photography editor—he doesn’t let me know when he’s taking people out of the pictures.” He added. “I just found out about this. There were people that were taken away that didn’t deserve to be taken away. I had nothing to do with it. My friends haven’t been talking to me for like two weeks.” French confirmed he had left Bad Boy last year. In an interview, French Montana stated that he left Bad Boy on “great terms,” confirming all financial commitments were met.
