FrieslandCampina, Two Others Lift NASD OTC Exchange by 0.46%

Three stocks halted the losing streak at the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange with a 0.46 per cent appreciation on Thursday, October 30.

FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc led the gainers’ chart after it chalked up 56 Kobo to end at N51.00 per share versus N50.44 per share, Food Concepts Plc appreciated by 29 Kobo to close at N3.21 per unit compared with the previous day’s N2.92 per unit, and UBN Property Plc added 21 Kobo to sell at N2.36 per share, in contrast to the N2.15 per share it was sold a day earlier.

The gains reported by the trio pushed up the market capitalisation of the platform by N9.96 billion to N2.159 trillion from the N2.149 trillion it finished a day earlier, and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) jumped by 16.65 points to settle at 3,609.02 points versus Wednesday’s closing value of 3,592.37 points.

During the session, the volume of securities recorded by the market participants dropped by 99.4 per cent to 12.2 million units from the previous 1.9 billion units, the value of securities declined by 99.5 per cent to N27.2 million from N5.7 billion, and the number of deals decreased by 45 per cent to 22 deals from the 40 deals recorded at midweek.

At the close of transactions, Infrastructure Credit Guarantee Company (InfraCredit) Plc was the most traded stock by value with a year-to-date sale of 5.8 billion units valued at N16.4 billion, followed by Okitipupa Plc with 170.3 million units transacted for N8.0 billion, and Air Liquide Plc with 507.3 million units worth N4.2 billion.

InfraCredit Plc was also the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 5.8 billion units worth N16.4 billion, trailed by Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc with 1.2 billion units worth N419.7 million, and Impresit Bakolori Plc with 536.9 million units traded for N524.8 million.
