Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on Monday, hosted members of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Board and Management on a courtesy visit.
Governor Fubara disclosed this on his 𝕏 account, where he shared photos of the visit.
According to the Governor, he charged the visiting NPA team to create more jobs, increase economic activity and strengthen Rivers State’s position in Nigeria’s ease of doing business ranking.
“Today, I hosted members of the Nigerian Ports Authority Board and Management on a courtesy visit.
“I urged the NPA team to optimise the Port Harcourt and Onne Ports to create more jobs, increase economic activity and strengthen Rivers State’s position in Nigeria’s ease of doing business ranking,” he wrote.
It would be recalled that Fubara, his deputy and members of the State House of Assembly were suspended from office on March 18, 2025, by President Bola Tinubu, following the political unrest in the state.
Tinubu announced the end of the emergency rule on September 17, 2025.
In other news, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has arrived at the Presidential Villa in Abuja to visit President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Naijaonpoint reports that Fubara is visiting the Presidential Villa for the first time since he was reinstated as the governor of Rivers, after a six-month emergency rule imposed on the state by Tinubu.
According to Channels Television, the Rivers State Governor arrived the villa alone at about 6:20 p.m. on Monday and made his way towards the office of the President.
Although the actual reason for Fubara’s visit to the presidential villa was not public as of the time of filing the report, it may not be unconnected to his reinstatement by Tinubu.
