Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has made new changes in his cabinet, moving the Commissioner for Sports Development, Christopher Green, to the Ministry of Justice as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.
Naijaonpoint reports that the decision was taken at the last State Executive Council meeting of the year in Port Harcourt.
This follows the earlier shake-up in government after the Supreme Court ruling on the political crisis in the state, which affected some members of the cabinet, including the former Attorney General.
A statement from the Ministry of Information and Communications confirmed that Green will now head the Justice Ministry. He will also keep watch over the Ministry of Sports until a new commissioner is named.
The move is meant to keep government work steady and make sure both ministries continue to run smoothly as the new year approaches.
In other news, The Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has vowed that the ‘leadership mistake’ in Rivers will be corrected in 2027.
Wike stated this during a ‘thank you’ visit to the people of Khana in Bori, Khana Local Government Area of Rivers.
He said that he was not in the community for politics but to thank the people for standing with him and President Bola Tinubu.
According to him, leaders are elected to represent the will of the people, and not for personal agenda.
