The recent price slash by Dangote Refinery has seen independent marketers under the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) announce plans to reduce the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) beginning Monday.

Naijaonpoint recalls that Dangote Refinery on Thursday slashed its ex-depot petrol price from ₦840 per litre to ₦820 per litre, prompting a swift response from fuel marketers across the country.

Speaking in an interview with Daily Post on Friday, IPMAN’s National President, Abubakar Maigandi, said the association’s members would adjust their retail prices downward in line with Dangote’s reduction.

“Whether Dangote Refinery or ex-depot petrol price, our members will also reduce. We will announce a fresh fuel price on Monday,” Maigandi said.

He confirmed that an official meeting of IPMAN members has been scheduled for Monday, after which a new price will be formally announced to the public.

As of Friday, fuel prices in Abuja remained high, with filling stations selling petrol between ₦905 and ₦945 per litre, according to Daily Post checks.

NNPC Ltd., NIPCO, AA Rano, and Shema were dispensing PMS at around N910 per litre, while MRS, AP Ardova, and other partners aligned with Dangote Refinery sold for ₦905 per litre.

Other marketers like Ranoil, Empire Energy, and Total Emadeb sold petrol for as much as ₦920 to ₦945 per litre in the Federal Capital Territory.
