Here is the full synopsis for Storm: Earth’s Mightiest Mutants #2:

FIRST APPEARANCE OF GALACTA!

The horns of war bellow battle formations. An army of mystics drenches the soil in blood sacrifices. Storm and Scarlet Witch face impossible choices as an interdimensional invasion draws nearer. Will their friendship stand the test of imminent destruction, murder and bloodshed, or will it foster resentments? In all, the sweet embrace of DEATH tugs at the universe still.

And making her long-awaited, first-ever comic book appearance is the Marvel 616 version of the femme inheritor of the Power Cosmic – blood of Galactus, the Devourer of Worlds…GALACTA.

It’s a milestone for the character after over fifteen years of scattershot appearances, during which the daughter of Galactus has steadily built up a fanbase. Now, her Multiversal adventures have finally brought her to Marvel’s “Earth-616” timeline, the main continuity in which most of its major stories take place.

As Marvel has continued to embrace the vastness of its Multiverse and started to tell more and more stories taking place outside its original timeline, the concept of “canon” has had to expand accordingly, stretching to encompass multiple possible realities for Marvel characters. That said, there is still a certain cache to appearing in the mainstream Marvel Universe.

Galacta debuted in 2009, and has appeared off-and-on since, but always in alternate timeline stories. Her role in this year’s hit video game Marvel Rivals made it all but certain that she would garner more appearances in the comics, and now she’s about to play a major role in Storm’s next storyline.

The Galacta Era Is Upon The Marvel Universe

Storm has been on the upswing herself lately. She has been a central X-Men hero for 50 years, but in 2025 she finally joined the Avengers. Moreover, her power level has been elevated, making her one of Marvel’s most powerful characters. Which puts her on the level of Galacta and Scarlet Witch, who is also set to appear in Earth’s Mightiest Mutant.

Adding Galacta to the mix with these two legendary heroes makes for quite the power trio. It is fitting for Galacta’s overdue first appearance in Marvel Comics’ OG timeline, but it’s almost certainly not going to be the last. Not now that Marvel Rivals has made her arguably more widely known than even her iconic father, Galactus himself.

Storm: Earth’s Mightiest Mutants #2 (of 5) will be available in March 2026 from Marvel Comics.
