Samsung has started rolling out the One UI 6.1.1 update for some of its flagship devices. The phones like the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Z Flip 5 have started receiving it. The new firmware seems to be creating some bugs on the Galaxy S23 series, especially the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Many users of the Galaxy S23 Ultra have complained that the One UI 6.1.1 update has some camera-related bugs.

The bug refers to a software glitch that’s affecting the camera’s zoom capabilities. After the update, the users of the Galaxy S23 Ultra are getting blurry images in the zoom mode.

A bug in One UI 6.1.1 on the Galaxy S23 Ultra is affecting the zooming capabilities

After the One UI 6.1.1 update, many Galaxy S23 Ultra owners posted details of a camera bug on Samsung forums. It appears that the phone has a significant camera zoom bug after the new firmware. The photos captured between 16x and 19.9x zooms are blurry or grainy on the phone.

Several users have uploaded the photos they captured to show this Galaxy S23 Ultra bug on One UI 6.1.1. It appears that the ghosting effect is showing on photos when the intelligent optimization functionality is set to max. Tarun Vats, who follows One UI builds, suggests the issue can be solved by setting the optimization to medium or minimum. However, users shouldn’t have to change the camera settings and Samsung should fix it as soon as possible.

Samsung has acknowledged the bug

Samsung is aware of this camera issue on the Galaxy S23 Ultra units running One UI 6.1.1. “Yes, I have reproduced the issue you mentioned and confirmed the problem. I apologize for the inconvenience. We will prepare a fix for the problem as soon as possible,” a moderator replied to a thread on the Samsung Korea website.

However, Samsung hasn’t officially made an announcement yet. As of now, there’s no official fix for this Galaxy S23 Ultra camera bug. If you haven’t downloaded the One UI 6.1.1 update on your phone yet, we advise you to wait. You can update once an official fix for this bug is released in the coming days.
