Galaxy S25 Ultra to bring two major camera upgrades

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra could end up bringing two major camera upgrades. This information comes from Ice Universe, one of the most prolific tipsters out there.

First, regarding the main and telephoto cameras, he says that we’ll get a 200-megapixel main camera, and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. That’s basically what the Galaxy S24 Ultra offers.

However, Samsung seemingly plans to issue upgrades to the ultrawide and telephoto cameras. Ice Universe says that a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera will be included, along with a 50-megapixel telephoto camera (3x optical zoom).

As a reminder, the Galaxy S24 Ultra has a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera. These upgrades should allow Samsung to better compete with other OEMs in those areas.

This could be a major deal for Samsung, actually. The company pushed the 10-megapixel telephoto camera for far too long, and many would say the same for a 12-megapixel ultrawide unit.

These new cameras, with the right image processing, should be able to deliver more detail and some other benefits. Let’s just hope that Samsung’s image processing will be spot on to take full advantage of the new camera sensors.

The phone will feature four rear cameras contrary to previous rumors

Also, this is yet another confirmation from Ice Universe that the phone will feature four cameras on the back. Some sources hinted at three rear cameras, but Ice Universe was quick to refute that.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to arrive in the first quarter of next year. It’s expected to launch with the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus, of course. Chances are that all three phones will arrive in January. Nothing has been confirmed just yet, as that period is still quite far away. Samsung is focusing on the arrival of the Galaxy Z Fold 6,  Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy Ring at the moment.
