The spokesman for the immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammad Garba, has dismissed recent allegations against former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, describing them as false, politically motivated, and designed to tarnish his reputation.

In a statement on Sunday night, Garba, who also served as Kano State Commissioner for Information, faulted attempts by the state government to link Ganduje to alleged financial misappropriation, overspending through the Protocol Directorate, and land grabbing.

Garba said, “Governor Ganduje completed his tenure with diligence and transparency. His administration was rooted in integrity and public service.”

Naijaonpoint reports that he insisted that the accusations were “acts of misinformation aimed at distracting the public from real governance issues.”

Garba maintained that all activities carried out under the Protocol Directorate during Ganduje’s tenure were administrative, lawful, and within state-approved budgets.

“Any attempt to suggest otherwise distorts the facts and misrepresents the nature of governance under Ganduje,” he added.

Regarding land administration, the former commissioner stated that Ganduje’s government introduced measures to protect public assets and ensure lawful land management.

“Ganduje implemented systems that safeguarded state lands. It is baseless to associate him with mismanagement in this regard,” he said.

Garba argued that Ganduje left behind enduring programmes and structures, stressing that attempts to link him with alleged corruption under the current administration were unfair.

He further stated, “Governor Ganduje’s record reflects decades of service to Kano State. Any attempt to associate him with the misdeeds of others is politically motivated.”

He called on politicians and the media to refrain from dragging the former governor’s name into propaganda battles.

“If there are genuine concerns, there are proper legal channels to address them. Dragging a former leader’s name into these narratives is unjust,” Garba warned.
