In the last few days, Christantus Uche’s future has been the major issue of discussion at Getafe, and Bordalas has now made a decision on him….

Getafe coach Jose Bordalas has confirmed that Super Eagles midfielder Christantus Uche will start in their La Liga game against Valencia on Friday, Soccernet.ng reports.

Coming into the summer, it was clear that Uche would have many suitors due to his impressive showing last season at Getafe.

But while he was linked with many clubs, especially from England, none of them made an offer until this week.

Three days ago, news broke that Premier League club Wolves had sent in a bid for the Super Eagles star.

Reports from sections of Spanish media even reported that the 22-year-old’s exit was sure. Getafe have been in a fix, and they need to make a significant sale in order to align with La Liga’s stringent financial rules and then register players.

However, on Wednesday, it was revealed that Wolves had pulled out of the deal, due to a failure to agree on personal terms with Uche.

But since then, Uche has been linked with many clubs in the top five European clubs. He has been linked with Leeds United, Crystal Palace, Nice, and Sunderland, but no one has tabled an offer yet.

Right now the situation is unstable, and with the transfer market closing in four days, clubs will start rushing deals and making sporadic signings. And Uche might just be in the mix.

Nonetheless, amid the uncertainty surrounding Uche’s future, coach Bordalas doesn’t seem to be bothered.

Getafe coach Jose Bordalas has maintained that Christantus Uche will keep starting games for him until he official leaves the club.

“Our president knows the needs of the club and the team, and if he (Uche) were to stay, it would be good news for everyone,” Bordalas told the Spanish press on Thursday.

“For now, Uche is  called up for the game against Valencia, and if he is, he has a chance of playing. If there are no problems, he’ll definitely be with us.”

Recall that when the news of a potential Wolves move came out, coach Bordalas clearly expressed his dissatisfaction.

In the meantime, Uche has declared his loyalty to his Getafe teammates. So it is highly unlikely that he will leave this summer.
