Ghoulies #1, the new comic book revival of the series, is the perfect way to reintroduce the iconic monsters, and potentially elevate them to a new level of terrifying.

Just when you thought it was safe to flush, the Ghoulies are back to wreak havoc in a brand-new comic book! In other words, it sounds like a fun modernization of the ’80s series, one that will serve up the characteristic gore expected from these nightmare-fuel creatures, while also serving up some unexpected twists and turns with this new take on the franchise.

Notably, Ghoulies #1’s synopsis teases “an unlikely hero,” which has fans wondering if the introduction of a heroic Ghoulie might be in store. The synopsis promises the kind of mapcap energy that made the original Ghoulies films cult classics. Meaning this could just be the start of a brand-new era for Ghoulies.
