This is great news for Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, who is looking for more firepower as Nigeria fights to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The 25-year-old striker made his comeback on March 29, 2025, coming off the bench in OGC Nice’s 2-1 loss to AS Monaco in Ligue 1. It was his first game since July 2024, when he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury that sidelined him for most of the season. Moffi was clearly emotional after the match, posting on X (formerly Twitter): “Thank you God” ... reflected his gratitude for finally getting back on the pitch after such a long and difficult recovery. Before the injury, Moffi was in fine form, scoring 11 goals in the 2023–24 season for Nice. His absence was a big blow for both his club and the Super Eagles, as he missed the 2024 AFCON and several World Cup qualifiers. With Nigeria struggling to score in the World Cup qualifiers, managing just seven goals in six games, Eric Chelle will be happy to have another forward available. If he regains full fitness and impresses for Nice, he could get back into the squad alongside Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Moses Simon. For now, Moffi will focus on getting back to his best with Nice.
