Google Gemini's Tasks & Keep extensions now available on web

Google continues to work on making Gemini more useful and powerful. Over the past few months, the assistant has been getting new extensions that allow it to work across more apps and services. Now, Google is bringing support for the Keep and Tasks extensions to the web version of Gemini. The extensions feature is free, so you don’t need a Gemini Advanced subscription to enjoy it.

Gemini web gets support for Google Tasks and Keep extensions

With the Pixel 9 series, Google officially introduced the Keep and Tasks extensions for Gemini. Like other extensions, they let you access the key features of the apps through the AI-powered voice assistant. So, on Keep, you can now create notes, add and edit existing notes, or search for information within them. Likewise, from Tasks, you can create new tasks and reminders, modify existing ones, or just show them. On phones, you can find both extensions as part of the main Google Workspace one.

That said, Gemini users on browsers can now take advantage of the power of the Keep and Tasks extensions as well. As usual, Google provides a series of example prompts to facilitate your initial steps. Regarding Keep, if you want to create new notes, you can use prompts like “Create a note called [note name]” or “Create a list called [list name] with [item 1, item 2, …].”

You can also create notes based on your current conversation with Gemini about any topic. For example, you can say something like “Tell me what steps I need to take to [goal or task]. Then create a list in Keep.” Another example suggested by Google reads “Find a recipe for [dish] and create a list of the ingredients in Keep.” Similarly, you can add new content to existing notes using Gemini. You can do so using prompts like “Add [item 1, item 2, …] to my list called [list name].”

If you want to know how to search for content in your Keep notes using Gemini, Google makes it easy. To do so, you can use prompts like “Do I have any notes related to [topic]?,” “Find my [list name] list,” or “Show all my lists about [task, event, goal, …].”

Extensions available only in English for now

For Tasks, you can use prompts like “Remind me on [date] at [time] to [task],” “Remind me at [time] to call [name],” or “Add [task] in my to-dos.” Showing your pending tasks is as easy as saying “What are my upcoming tasks?,” “What are my to-dos for [time, date]?,” or “What are my tasks related to [topic, activity, event]?.” To update existing tasks, you can use “Change the date of [task name] task to [date],” “Mark [task name] as done in Tasks,” or “Change the name of task [task name] to [ task name].”
