Gospel star Kelly Price is going viral for all the wrong reasons after unleashing a shocking rant that many fans are calling “disrespectful” and “self-hating.” In a string of videos posted online, Kelly — who built her career singing soulful ballads and gospel standards — suddenly turned her focus toward Black women, delivering insults that left social media stunned.
Kelly’s Explosive Words
At one point in her rant, Kelly flat-out declared that “Black women are some of the most nasty, disrespectful people”— words that many couldn’t believe came from her mouth, given that Kelly herself is a Black woman.
She then turned her fire toward men, saying:
“Any man who feels the right to disrespect a woman who has never done anything to them, and they feel the need to say something nasty and hurtful — you’re a bish. And I mean that from the bottom of my heart.”
But it was her direct callouts to Black women that set the internet ablaze.

Kelly even laid her rant out in numbered points:
1. She reminded fans that before she “was saved,” she was a Black girl from the South Side of Jamaica, Queens (and made it clear that she didn’t want anyone confusing it with Jamaica the country).
2. She attacked what she called “DEI hires,” claiming that some Black women who benefited from diversity initiatives are now losing their jobs while she’s still thriving. “While you were fighting for people in other cultures to lose their jobs, I used my voice,” Kelly said.
3. She blasted her critics, saying that while Black women clown her for her looks — from her size to her wardrobe to even her feet — she’s still out here selling out theaters and making money.
At one point she sneered: “You said I looked nasty in those clothes, you said my feet were big … but I’m still cashing checks.”
Shading Her Own People
Kelly then appeared to walk her rant back just slightly, expanding her criticism to Black people as a whole. “I’m so sick of Black people and their BS,” she said, before adding: “Pray for me, Lord, because I’m not there yet.”
She circled back to her main point, however, once again doubling down: “Black women are the most disrespectful people on God’s planet earth.”
The Shade Continues
On her third slide, Kelly told her critics to “find yourself,” arguing that:
- “A degree does not give you class.”
- “A degree doesn’t get you into heaven.”
- “Being a keyboard thug doesn’t do anything but get your ass whooped when somebody walks up on you.”
Fans React
Social media wasted no time dragging Kelly. Many accused her of projecting her insecurities and pandering to conservative talking points, with one fan tweeting: “Kelly Price sounds like she’s auditioning for a Trump rally.”
Others pointed out the irony of Kelly attacking the very demographic — Black women — who make up the majority of her fanbase. “Who do you think buys tickets to your shows?” another commenter wrote.
