WATCH THE VIDEO HERE Gospel singer Le’Andria Johnson is speaking out after word spread about her arrest for public intoxication in downtown Greenville, South Carolina. Officers received a call to attend a restaurant on North Main Street because Johnson was allegedly “causing a disturbance.” Witnesses say she was yelling at some of the other customers. When officers arrived, they found the gospel star yelling profanities at a man while walking down a nearby street. She reportedly handed a styrofoam cup to the man and tried to hide the cup after seeing the approaching officers. The police report says she smelled of alcohol and was slurring her words. She also could not stand still and was swaying on her feet. After being arrested for public intoxication, she posted a $257.50 bond and was released from the Greenville County Detention Center. The singer rose to fame after winning Season 3 of BET’s Sunday Best. Her popularity spiked after the release of her debut album, ‘The Awakening of Le’Andria Johnson’, which reached the top spot on the U.S. Billboard Gospel Albums chart. [social_warfare]
