The governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno has been officially received into the Progeessives Governors’ Forum.
Eno said he received a warm welcome at a two-day regional meeting organised by the forum in Benin city, Edo State.
The Progressives Governors’ Forum is a platform for all governors under the political platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Eno wrote on X, “It was such a great delight for me to join my Brother Governors in the Progressive Family for a 2-day regional meeting in Benin City, Edo State, where critical issues concerning the State of the Nation and that of our Party, the APC, were discussed.
”I was formally welcomed to the Progressive Governors’ Forum, and I sincerely appreciate the reception, the warmth, the conviviality and oneness in this family,” the governor wrote.
Recall that Eno had defected from his former party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.
He was officially received by the party’s officials at a grand reception in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State’s capital city.
According to Eno, the dumped the PDP because the party was longer serving his political needs and that of the Akwa Ibom people.
The governor also noted that while he remains grateful to the PDP, its members and leaders, it was time for him to move Akwa Ibom State to the next level.
