The Abia State government has described a report circulating on social media, in which Governor Alex Otti was quoted as saying that he would make Lagos look like a village, as false, baseless, and unfounded propaganda.
The report had also quoted Otti as saying: “I have no business with Lagos, I am not competing with Lagos. My competition is China and Dubai.
“By the time I’m done with Abia, Lagos will look like a village”.
Naijaonpoint reports that the Special Adviser to Governor Otti on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, in a statement regarding the trending report titled “Governor Otti fires back over demolition of Igbo businesses,” stated that angry and frustrated politicians are responsible.
According to Ekeoma, Otti Ekeoma detests childish showmanship and could not have made a statement that bears the signature of arrogance, thoughtlessness and divisiveness.
He alleged that the authors of the fake news were the same desperate politicians who wrote petitions and inciting articles as soon as they learnt that President Bola Tinubu was coming to commission some projects in Abia.
He added, “Given the relationship which has become an unbreakable bond that has existed between Governor Otti and his brother Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for decades, speaking to the Governor directly off camera on any subject matter is one of the easiest things to do.”
