The Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, is scheduled to take a three-week medical leave, commencing on August 18, 2025.

This was made known in a statement on Thursday by the Katsina State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Dr Bala Salisu-Zango.

According to the statement, during Governor Radda’s absence, the Deputy Governor, Mallam Faruk Lawal-Jobe, would assume the responsibilities of governance and ensure there’s no interruption in governance.

Governor Radda said while he needs to prioritize his health for now, he looks forward to returning to the people of Katsina as soon as possible.

“I want to thank everyone for their kind words and ongoing support. Taking the necessary steps to prioritise my health is essential so I can continue to serve effectively and make the best decisions for our state.

“I look forward to returning to my duties as soon as I finish my medical checkup,” the statement quoted the governor as saying.

The Governor also expressed confidence in Lawal-Jobe’s ability to lead and manage affairs with the same dedication and commitment.

“We wish to assure the public that all ongoing initiatives, programmes and projects will continue to progress without interruption,” Radda said.

Naijaonpoint recalls that Governor Radda was recently involved in a car accident. The incident occurred while the Governor was returning from Daura.

The Governor was said to have sustained a fracture and received treatment before he was discharged.
