The Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Amina J. Mohammed, GCON, on Saturday paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, where both parties engaged in strategic discussions on developmental challenges and opportunities in the state.
According to a statement personally issued by Governor Sani via his official Facebook handle, the meeting centred on “key developmental issues affecting Kaduna State” and explored avenues for deepening collaboration with various UN development agencies active in Nigeria.
”I had the honour of receiving the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Amina J. Mohammed, GCON, on a courtesy visit to my office. Our discussions focused on key developmental issues affecting Kaduna State. We also explored ways to further strengthen collaboration with UN development agencies operating in Nigeria,” the governor wrote.
Governor Sani further expressed gratitude to the UN deputy chief for her recent engagement with the state, particularly her participation at the Kada EduPACT International Summit held earlier in the month, where she delivered the keynote address.
”I took the opportunity to express my sincere appreciation for her participation and keynote address at the recently concluded Kada EduPACT International Summit. Her participation added immense value to the event,” he added.
He praised Ms. Mohammed’s global leadership in advancing sustainable development, describing her as a source of pride to the country.
”We are proud of her exemplary leadership on the global stage and reaffirm our commitment to supporting her as she continues to champion sustainable development through her work at the United Nations,” Governor Sani concluded.
