Gov Yusuf Makes Fresh Appointments

The Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has made a number of strategic appointments to bolster his administration’s ability to provide effective governance.

A statement from the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Sunday, January 5, stated that these appointments are effective immediately and underscore the administration’s dedication to promoting good governance and infrastructure development.

Notably, Ahmad Muhammad Speaker has been appointed as Special Adviser on Publicity.

Ahmad brings a wealth of political experience, having served three terms as Chairman of Dawakin Tofa Local Government and previously held the position of All Progressives Congress (APC) State Organizing Secretary.

In addition, Engr. Ahmad has been designated as Special Adviser on Works, reflecting the administration’s renewed commitment to advancing infrastructure initiatives throughout the state.

Naijaonpoint reports that the Governor has also appointed Malam Sani Abdullahi Tofa as Special Adviser on Special Duties. Malam Sani Tofa is a respected individual with a distinguished background, having served as a Khadi in Sharia Courts in both Kano and Abuja, as well as a retired Permanent Secretary in the Kano State Civil Service and a former Director General of the Kano State Shari’a Commission.

Furthermore, Hon. Ibrahim Jibrin Fagge has been appointed as Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, while Hajia Ladidi Ibrahim Garko will take on the role of Chairman of the Kano State Civil Service Commission. Both appointees have previously held significant positions as Commissioners of Finance and Tourism, respectively.

The statement also revealed that the Governor is set to lead a swearing-in ceremony on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM, taking place in the Ante-Chamber of the Kano Government House.

This occasion will feature the inauguration of seven commissioner nominees who have recently passed screening by the Kano State House of Assembly and the newly appointed Special Advisers, Naijaonpoint understands.
