The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke; his wife, Titilola; and members of his family were warmly welcomed at the introduction ceremony between his son, Gbolahan, and his fiancée, Damilola Adio.
The event, which held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, in Eti-Osa, Lagos State, was attended by many members of the elite class.
As both families gathered in unity for the ceremony—which precedes the holy solemnisation of the couple in the coming months—all key rites were observed. These included the groom prostrating before the bride’s parents as a sign of respect, and the couple sitting on the laps of both sets of parents while receiving prayers. The groomsmen were also asked to prostrate as a traditional gesture of seeking the bride’s hand in marriage.
One highlight of the event was the emotional reaction of the bride to a speech delivered by her best friend, which brought her to tears. At the occasion, Governor Adeleke, known for his love of music and dance, did not miss the opportunity to showcase his singing prowess. He entertained the guests and carried them along as he performed with great excitement.
