Governor Otu Mourns Late Commissioner, Abubakar Ewa

The Governor of Cross River State, Bassey Edet Otu, has described the death of his Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Abubakar Ewa, as a tragedy.

Naijaonpoint reported Ewa passed away on Wednesday evening at the Arubah Specialist Hospital in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.

He was present at the state’s executive council meeting earlier on Wednesday which was presided by the Governor.

Governor Otu said the late Commissioner for Culture was a dedicated leader who worked tirelessly for the growth of the state.

He noted that his demise created a vacuum in the government. He consoled his family and the people of Boki nation for the loss.

“I am deeply saddened by the passing of Hon. Abubakar Ewa, our Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism.

“He was a dedicated leader and a proud son of Boki Nation who worked tirelessly for the growth of our state.

“His loss is profound, and my thoughts and prayers are with his family and all who are grieving. May God grant us the strength to endure this difficult time,” he said.

Ewa served as Secretary and later, Chairman of the Boki Local Government Council. He also served as Special Adviser on Community Relations and Secretary of the Anti-Deforestation Task Force.
