Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has returned Taiwo Olatunbosun to his position as Commissioner for Information.
This comes barely a week after he dissolved the state executive council.
The reappointment was confirmed in Ado-Ekiti through a statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, on Tuesday.
According to the letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Habaibat Adubiaro, Olatunbosun is to resume duty immediately.
The governor had earlier dissolved his cabinet on August 11, instructing commissioners and special advisers to hand over responsibilities to permanent secretaries or senior civil servants in their ministries, departments and agencies.
However, six commissioners, including those in charge of Finance, Works and Human Capital Development, were retained to maintain continuity in vital sectors.
Governor Oyebanji explained at the time that the dissolution was necessary to inject new energy into governance while staying committed to his agenda of shared prosperity for the state.
In other news, Former Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, has filed a lawsuit against former Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, and the Monday Okpebholo-led Government, demanding billions.
Naijaonpoint reports that Shaibu is demanding unpaid allowances and entitlements due to him during his tenure as acting governor and deputy governor between 2016 and 2024.
Sources told Naijaonpoint that to compel the government to pay the said entitlements, Shaibu has approached the National Industrial Court, Abuja, demanding payment of his entitlements and allowances including a request for over ₦85 million allegedly incurred as medical bills for his wife, Maryann, between 2016 and 2024.
