Grand Theft Auto VI realism, NPC behavior "will blow people away"

Grand Theft Auto VI will blow people away with its realism and NPC behavior according to a former designer developer who worked for Rockstar on the game and several others in the Grand Theft Auto franchise.

Grand Theft Auto has been popular for almost as long as the franchise has been out, often pushing the envelope in numerous ways. Whether that was with the gruesome nature of the game’s violence and how far you could take it, or the unparalleled realism from NPCs in Grand Theft Auto V.

Grand Theft Auto VI will push the envelope again. Only this time it could do so in more impactful ways. Something that may perhaps have something to do with how real games have the capability to appear visually these days.

Former Rockstar designer says Rockstar is raising the bar on realism once again

Speaking with GTAVI O’Clock (via Wccftech), a channel entirely dedicated to news and updates about Grand Theft Auto VI, former Rockstar Designer Ben Hinchliffe, Rockstar is raising the bar with realism. Hinchliffe also states that the mission design in the game will grant players freedom and will be a big part of what makes the game good. Hinchliffe doesn’t seem to elaborate much on mission design beyond this point, however.

With regard to NPC behavior, it will also “blow everyone away and be talked about for years to come.”

The game is currently in the “bug-fixing phase”

Rockstar has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI has a planned 2025 release date and this hasn’t changed so far. As of right now, the game is in the bug-fixing phase so things appear to moving right along at a good pace. This also suggests that Rockstar is on schedule with the game’s release date. It’s also possible that the studio could show more of the game in the near future. Rockstar officially announced Grand Theft Auto VI last December which means we’re coming up on one year since the first trailer debuted.

There’s no confirmation from Rockstar when it will show off more gameplay or talk more about the game’s mechanics and other features. However, it would make sense for the studio to present more of the game to players in December of this year. While the game was initially announced with a 2025 release date rumors began to spread that it may have been delayed until 2026. Rockstar owner Take-Two later confirmed that the game has a planned release in the Fall of next year.
