The Queens Palm Support Initiative, a non-governmental organisation, has hosted a one-day leadership and communication masterclass to equip women with personal and professional growth skills.
According to a statement, the event held in Lagos featured top facilitators who provided insights into leadership, corporate survival, and public speaking.
The initiative reinforced its commitment to education and empowerment, equipping women with the tools to lead confidently.
Convener of the Queens Palm Support Initiative, Sabrina Ozma, underscored the importance of setting actionable goals and maintaining an intentional leadership mindset, stating, “The essential qualities of an effective leader include courage, resilience, adaptability, active listening, strong communication skills, and a clear strategic vision. “Our initiative remains dedicated to fostering inclusive learning opportunities, ensuring both men and women have access to valuable leadership resources.”
Journalist and media entrepreneur, Kadaria Ahmed, highlighted strategies for surviving the corporate world and achieving work-life balance, noting, “Striking a balance between professional and personal responsibilities is key to navigating the corporate space, while personal well-being should always be a priority.” Similarly, media personality, Gloria Babarinde, addressed the role of communication in leadership, adding “Effective communication is not about perfection but about presence and influence.” Babarinde further stressed that “commanding an audience through eye contact, body language, and vocal modulation builds confidence during public speaking.”
One of the attendees, Deborah Igbinedion, described the masterclass as a transformative experience.
Igbinedion hailed the session as inspiring and thought-provoking, adding that it “push(ed) me to reflect on my capabilities as a woman in leadership. The facilitators created a supportive environment where we could share challenges and successes. I left with new skills, insights, and a renewed sense of purpose.”
The Queens Palm masterclass encouraged participants to make bold decisions aligned with their leadership aspirations. The event reinforced key commitments for women striving for excellence, including self-improvement, preparation, integrity, and strategic action.
