Grand Theft Auto 6 fans are having a hell of a year, with multiple delay announcements killing most of the hype they’d built up for the game’s release in 2026. After being burned twice now, players can’t help but expect the worst, with a third delay being entirely possible.

After a new PlayStation trailer for its upcoming 2026 games scheduled to release next year that did NOT include Grand Theft Auto 6, fans on Reddit are worried that the scheduled 2026 release isn’t realistic and GTA 6 could face another delay into 2027 or beyond.

The PlayStation 5 trailer includes a massive lineup of great and exciting releases scheduled for 2026, such as Marvel’s Wolverine, the Witcher-like vampire RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker, and the new launch of Housemarque’s Returnal follow-up, SAROS. However, the trailer is missing one massive entry in that lineup: Grand Theft Auto 6.

As you’d expect, GTA 6 fans on social media have taken this as a clear indicator that the game will not be released in 2026, with niffum1 questioning, “Does this mean even Sony is cautious/doubtful about the release of GTA 6 in 2026?” Ultimately, the exclusion of GTA 6 from this trailer isn’t a huge surprise, as any GTA 6-related reveals would typically be given their own trailer from Rockstar.

While the absence of GTA 6 here likely means nothing for the actual release date of the game, it does highlight how on edge fans have become over anything GTA 6 related. Even the absence of the game is cause for concern among some players, and it’s wild how hyper-focused fans have become on everything connected to its launch and a potential further delay.

Still, with two delays under our belt, it wouldn’t be so crazy to believe the release date could easily change yet again. While it seems like some players are reading a bit too much into GTA 6‘s absence from the PS5 trailer, you can’t blame them for fearing the worst.
