Gunmen Suspected To Be Bandits, K!ll Police Inspector, Abduct Wife

A police inspector, Donfa Chirtip, has been killed and his wife, Victoria, abducted at Kurmin Kare in the Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

A security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, made this known on X on Saturday.

Makama stated that the Donfa, attached to the Special Protection Unit Base 7, Abuja, was reportedly attacked while returning from his farmland with his wife on Friday.

According to him, the cop’s lifeless body was found in a farmland within the community later in the evening.

He further stated that security operatives who arrived at the scene, however, found a deep cut on his neck.

“The deceased, identified as Inspector Donfa Chirtip of the Special Protection Unit Base 7, Abuja, was discovered lifeless on Friday evening with a deep cut on his neck in a farmland within the village. Joint patrol teams swiftly moved to the scene, where the officer’s body was found.

“Preliminary investigation suggests that the inspector and his wife, Mrs. Victoria Chirtip, had gone to the farm earlier in the morning around 7:00 a.m. on a motorcycle.”

They were believed to have been ambushed by unknown assailants on their way back in the evening,” Makama wrote.

He added that his remains were taken to the Doka General Hospital, where he was confirmed dead by a medical officer and deposited in the hospital morgue.

Meanwhile, efforts were said to be ongoing to locate the missing wife and apprehend the suspects behind the attack.

The Kaduna State Police Command spokesperson, Mansir Hassan, could not be reached for a reaction on Sunday as calls made to his telephone line by our correspondent were not responded to.

A text message sent to him had yet to be replied to as of the time this report was filed.
