The African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain, Dele Momodu, has asserted that former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, is an ideal democrat.

Naijaonpoint reports that Momodu, in an article on his Facebook page, stated that since Atiku stepped down for MKO Abiola in 1993, he has continued to engage in politics with decorum.

He said Atiku, a key figure in the opposition coalition, became Vice President under President Olusegun Obasanjo, in a most fatalistic manner and never invested in thuggery.

Momodu said Atiku believes that politics is a game to be played ethically without rancour or bitterness.

According to the veteran journalist, Atiku, despite his several attempts at the presidency, never introduced violence

He said, “Since 1993, when he stepped down for Chief Moshood Abiola at the SDP Presidential Primary in Jos, he has played politics with utmost Decorum.

“Even when his arch-rival Babagana Kingibe was picked over him as running mate, he never worked against the party.

“He still became Vice President under president Olusegun Obasanjo, in a most fatalistic manner.

“He has never introduced violence to the game. Whenever he felt aggrieved, he simply moved on to other platforms in order to try his luck elsewhere. Never did he pull down the roof or set the house on fire.”
