“He is the foundation of everything I am” – Femi Adebayo praises father, Adebayo Salami, as he presents him with his AMVCA trophies (Video)

Nollywood actor Femi Adebayo has honoured his father, Adebayo Salami, by presenting him with his AMVCA trophies.

Kemi Filani reported that the talented actor and filmmaker had won the Best Lead Actor award and another award at the just-concluded Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards on Saturday, May 10th.

Taking to his Instagram page, Femi shared a video of the moment he presented his father with the award, and he and others prayed for him.

In his caption, Femi stated that his father is the foundation of where he started. He expressed how humbled he was by the sweet gestures of his father and mother. He revealed that his parents’ sacrifices, prayers, and love made him who he is and declared that without them, there wouldn’t be him.

“There are moments awards can’t measure—like this one. Humbled beyond words as my father, Alhaji Adebayo Salami @adebayo.salami, and my dear mothers poured prayers over me today.

Similarly, when Bimbo won the Best Actress at AMVCA in 2023, she took her award to her father, as she recounted how he took her to her first audition and waited for 6 hours till she was done. Bimbo noted how the hood produced all the characters that she had blessed her fans with.

Two years ago, Femi penned a heartwarming tribute to celebrate his father’s dedication to his project. Adebayo appreciated his father for being a boss, friend, confidant, and gist partner and thanked him for showing the right way. Femi revealed that he can never be tired of admiring his father’s dedication to him, and as a proud son, he will share his stellar performance with the world.

In another post, the box office king, while sharing photos of them twinning in matching outfits, expressed how glad he was to celebrate his father, whom he considers his mentor and closest friend. According to him, he doesn’t play with his partnership with his father, as he reemphasised that his father deserves to be celebrated every day.
