“He was a true soldier of Christ” – Gospel singers Victoria Orenze and Nathaniel Bassey mourn conservative activist, Charlie Kirk

Nigerian gospel singers are mourning the death of US conservative activist, author and media personality, Charlie Kirk.

The 31-year-old, who was a close ally of President Donald Trump and played an influential role in rallying young Republican voters, was shot and killed on Wednesday, September 10th, at a Utah College event.

Krik was speaking at a debate hosted by his nonprofit political organization where he was shot dead at about 12:20 p.m. The Governor had called his death a political assassination.

Investigators believed the attack was targeted, and the shooter was believed to have fired a round from the roof of a building. The event took place in a student courtyard, which was secured with the help of six Utah Valley University officers.

Taking to his Instagram page to mourn him, Nathaniel Bassey prayed for him to rest in peace.

“Pained.
Rest in the Lord, Charlie Kirk”.

Victoria Orenze, meanwhile, wrote a lengthy post to honour the deceased. She stated that truth cannot be killed, nor can it be silenced or stopped.

She described the deceased as a true soldier who is now with Christ. Sending his wife and kids a consoling message, she said we are clearly in the last days and must boldly stand for Jesus Christ.
